TASMANIA – THE FORGOTTEN STATE

October 13, 2020

As mentioned above, our now regular and highly enjoyable Tasmania Golf Tour is looking much more promising for us to be able to run, with Australia starting to open up to having visitors again. This year the tour was sold out, so be sure to register soon if you are keen to join us – we are already half full. Don’t forget there is no need to pay deposits at the moment. Once the borders are fully open and we are in a position to confirm that the tour can run without restrictions and flights are available, we will call for deposits in conjunction with flight planning. The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly playing the Barnbougle golf courses and at that time of the year, you have the best chance of having good weather for it too! The two centres we visit allow you to experience two different cities – Hobart and Launceston – many this year loved Launceston over Hobart, despite Hobart being the capital. The other golf courses we play are not overshadowed by Barnbougle – the Tasmania course is a stunner, with some great views as you make your way around the headland. MONA is a ‘must visit’ attraction in Hobart and provides for many hours of conversation afterwards and the day trip to Port Arthur gives a fascinating history of the region. For a greater golf challenge, there is always the opportunity to extend your stay and play the King Island courses after the tour finishes.
