We have recently returned from Tasmania where we had a great group join us for two weeks of fun, great golf and discovering this gem of an island. We started off in Hobart, the capital of the state, staying centrally right by the Harbour, close to the many restaurants in the area. Kingston Beach was our first round of golf, famed for its unique inclinator. Next was the Tasmania course, with stunning views from many of the holes, followed by Royal Hobart. Between the golf everyone got to visit MONA, a unique museum which created much discussion! Our visit to Port Arthur revealed a very interesting history of this prison settlement. We moved up to Launceston for our second week, from where we made two visits to Barnbougle. The weather Gods were good to us and we had sunny, dry days with not too much wind! Lost Farm was my favourite for the interesting vistas and great ocean views, plus the extra two holes (13A & 18A) that make the course a 20 hole round! Our final round was at Launceston and congratulations to Wilson McGillivray and Marg Read who took away the tour honours. We have planned next years’ tour already and it is up on the website and bookings are being taken now! Don’t miss out as the tour is expected to be full again in 2021.
